What Is Mindless Eating?

Mindless eating could be defined as the opposite or absence of mindfulness and mindful eating. Mindless eating may also be additionally defined as unconscious eating driven by marketing psychology and cues we receive from the people and environment around us.

You can reduce mindless eating behaviors by beginning to eat mindfully, as you will learn in The Mindfulness Diet program.

Mindfulness can also reduce the mindless eating specifically driven by marketing psychology and environmental cues because mindfulness expands your awareness of those cues and their effects on you. This works because the more aware you are of the cues in your environment and their effect on you, the more you can consciously choose whether to allow those cues to influence your actions and behaviors, or not.
